Temper Temper Temper

How to hold your temper

NAIL IN THE FENCE

Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence)

There once was a little boy who had a bad

temper.

His Father gave him a bag of nails

and told him that every time he lost his

temper, he must hammer a nail into the back

of the fence.
The first day the boy had

driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next

few weeks, as he learned to control his

anger, the number of nails hammered daily

gradually dwindled down. He discovered

it was easier to hold his temper than to

drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't

lose his temper at all. He told his father

about it and the father suggested that the

boy now pull out one nail for each day that he
was able to hold
his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally

able to tell his father that all the nails
were gone. The father took his son by the

hand and led him to the fence He said, 'You

have done well, my son, but look at the

holes in the fence. The fence will never be

the same. When you say things in anger,

they leave a scar just like this one. You can put
a knife in a man and draw it out.

It won't matter how many times you say 'I'm

sorry', the wound is still there. A verbal

wound is as bad as a physical one.

Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They

make you smile and encourage you to succeed.

They lend an ear, they share words of praise

and they always want to open their hearts to us.'

Show your

friends how much you care.

Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole.

A two minute read......

Read this story, and
follow the recommendation at
the end...

As I was walking
down life's highway
many years ago

I came upon a
sign that read

Heavens Grocery Store.

When I got a
little closer

the doors swung
open wide

And when I came
to myself

I was standing
inside.

I saw a host of
angels.

They were
standing everywhere

One handed me a
basket

and said "My
child shop with care."

Everything a
human needed

was in that
grocery store

And what you
could not carry

you could come
back for more

First I got some
Patience.

Love was in that
same row.

Further down was
Understanding,

you need that
everywhere you go.

I got a box or
two of Wisdom

and Faith a bag
or two.

And Charity of
course

I would need some
of that too.

I couldn't miss
the Holy Ghost

It was all over
the place.

And then some
Strength

and Courage to
help me run this race.

My basket was
getting full

but I remembered
I needed Grace,

And then I chose
Salvation for

Salvation was for
free

I tried to get
enough of that to do

for you and me.

Then I started to
the counter

to pay my grocery
bill,

For I thought I
had everything

to do the Masters
will.

As I went up the
aisle

I saw Prayer and
put that in,

For I knew when I
stepped outside

I would run into
sin.

Peace and Joy
were plentiful,

the last things
on the shelf.

Song and Praise
were hanging near

so I just helped
myself.

Then I said to
the angel

"Now how much do
I owe?"

He smiled and
said

"Just take them
everywhere you go."

Again I asked
"Really now,

How much do I
owe?"

"My child" he
said, "God paid your bill

a long long time
ago."

This poem has
been sent to you

with love and for
blessings
Hugs to all who take their time to read this..may God bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..luv u all..

Understanding the Word

Here's a little something I took from our bible sharing yesterday...

Understanding the Word (Lectio Divina)

Step 1 : Reading
What does this passage mean?

Step 1 is really basic la... u can't understand unless you read ^^

*laughter*

Step 1 means that you have to read the passage over and over again until you've understood it fully. Here's a tip, as you read the words, read them one by one and try to imagine an image of the passage when you reading. It helps a lot!

Step 2 : Meditation
Is there a special message for me??

Basically, after you read, try to look for some verses that somehow strikes you. There's always something!! That's for sure...

Find the verses that somehow relate to your life, it may answer you questions about common Christian issues like sin and God's Love.

Step 3 : Contemplation
What is God saying to me personally???

This part is kinda hard, unless you really really want to hear... This is the part when you actually try to listen to what God himself is trying to tell you...

Try saying this:
Here I am in God's presence, He speaks to me and within me, Lord open my heart to listen to you

In every conversation, there's two basic things, which is...

  1. The Desire to Be Understood
  2. The Desire to Listen

There's no doubt that God has an unlimited desire to be understood, what's left is just your desire to listen...

Step 4 : Prayer
After reflecting on the passage and inspired by it, I respond to God. I praise and glorify God. How can I build an intimate relationship with God who loves me???

This part, really is about honesty and being true to God. Tell God about everything that you want. Close your eyes and just say your thoughts. Every person has a different prayer and every prayer shall not be left unheard by our daddy.

Step 5 : Action
How does God want me to live by his Word in a special way??

This part is where changes do take a permanent place in your life. Think about what should you do tomorrow and the next day and other days. You want to leave a permanent mark of what you have felt and prayed for in your life and ultimately, everyone around you...

Help this helps you in your bible reading!!!

By the way, our bible sharing are held:

Venue :BSC Parish Hall
Time :7:00pm

Date :Every Wednesday

Bring your friends!!! See you there!

With his blood, he has saved me

Here's the lyrics

Oslo Gospel Choir - My Tribute
From a live concert
Song by: Andrae Crouch

How can I say thanks
For the things you have done for me
Things so undeserved
Yet You gave to prove your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to thee

To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done

Just let me live my life
And let it be pleasing Lord to thee
And should I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary

With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory
For the things He has done

To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done

Nuts...

One thing you should might want to know about the Blessed Ministry is that somehow, somewhere, we can find something fun out of nothin... It's remarkable...

This post is actually about NUTS!!!!

When you put Sarah, Carl and Joel together... you'll never know what might happen ^^

We were at ExPert in BDC and we were munching on some nuts AKA ~Kacang~. Then, Sarah, Carl and Joel kinda arranged the skin of the nuts in a formation. Suddenly, they formed something like this...

See anything?? K, let me turn that a bit.... ^^

Now??? Sarah did a little of adjustments...

There... looks like a dog right???

Then, Sarah did a few adjustments...

Transform to a CAT!!!

They can't control themselves!! Next is a....

BaBooN...

You might say, "Sakai" ahha... But, honestly, God gave us this world and they are so many stuff we can do... Be grateful for what you have, cause some people, just don't have any...

Take care!!

Saturday, November 24, 2007

Cheers everyone! It's Sophia here. Cyril's away on a trip and he asked whether I could "take care" of the Ministry's blog in the meanwhile. Naturally, it was my pleasure. Tomorrow will be the last day of the liturgical calendar; Christ the King. The last Bible Sharing on Wednesday was taken from the Gospel of Luke 23: 35- 43 and that night's sharing has been coming back to me a lot since.

This is from the Good News Bible:

35 The people stood there watching while the Jewish leaders made fun of him: "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Messiah whom God has chosen!"
36 The soldiers also made fun of him: they came up to him and offered him cheap wine, 37 and said, "Save yourself if you are the king of the Jews!"
38 Above him were written these words: "This is the King of the Jews."
39 One of the criminals hanging there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!"
40 The other one, however, rebuked him, saying, "Don't you fear God? You received the same sentence he did. 41 Ours, however, is only right, because we are getting what we deserve for what we did; but he has done no wrong."
42 And he said to Jesus, "Remember me, Jesus, when you come as King!"
43 Jesus said to him, "I promise you that today you will be in Paradise with me."

I quote something from one of us sharing that night. Not precise, but something like this.

Jesus was silent throughout all the insults; four times. First by the Jewish leaders, the soldiers, the inscription and lastly the criminal. The only time he actually spoke was to assure the other criminal that he will be with him in Paradise.
Right now, for personal reasons, these words are exactly what I need. If Jesus, so powerful and almighty had bore pains without proclaiming to the whole world, who are we to do just that? God is awesome and knows everything so thoroughly. I had no idea actually, still haven't, with what to do with this post. I don't even have a title. But we have been told to make up our minds ahead of time not to worry, because God will give us such words and wisdom that none of the enemies can contradict. In Sirach 30: 23 God says, "Enjoy yourself and be happy; don't worry all the time. Worry never did anybody any good and it has destroyed many people."
And to prove that, God gave Jesus, so that we will be happy.

Tomorrow, we will be celebrating the Solemnity of Christ the King. I hope everyone, especially all those lost and still seeking, knows that although just like one of the criminals, sinful, we still belong somewhere. Together, let us reflect on the readings and Gospel. I hope it has meant as much to you as it had me.

WHY GOD ALLOWS PAIN

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.

They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:

"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?

Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.

He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!

That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.

That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

I have been listening Radio Rhema everyday for more than 5 years when I was away to get my daily fix of God's Word...recently, I logged back on again. What happen to the 12 apostles???

DO YOU KNOW HOW THE APOSTLES DIED?

Matthew Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, killed by a sword wound.

Mark Died in Alexandria , Egypt , after being dragged by horses through the streets until he was dead.

Luke was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous preaching to the lost.

John faced martyrdom when he was boiled in huge basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution in Rome . However, he was miraculously delivered from death. John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic Book of Revelation on Patmos. The apostle John was later freed and returned to serve as Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey. He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully.

Peter was crucified upside down on an x-shaped cross. According to church tradition it was because he told his tormentors that he felt unworthy to die in the same way that Jesus Christ had died.

James, Just The leader of the church in Jerusalem, was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller's
club.

* This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.

James the Great, son of Zebedee, was a fisherman by trade when Jesus called him to a lifetime of ministry. As a strong leader of the church, James was ultimately beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his
trial. Later, the officer walked beside James to the place of execution. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian.

Bartholomew also known as Nathaniel Was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed for our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia where he was flayed to death by a whip.

Andrew was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece . After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to the cross with cords to prolong his agony. His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these words: "I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it." He continued to preach to his tormentors for two days until he expired.

Thomas was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the sub-continent.

Jude was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. Matthias The apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot, was stoned and then beheaded.

Barnabas, one of the group of seventy disciples, wrote the Epistle of Barnabas. He preached throughout Italy and Cyprus. Barnabas was stoned to death at Salonica.

Paul was tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment which allowed him to write his many epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire . These letters, which taught many of the foundational
doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament.

Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor compared to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles disciples during their times for the sake of the Faith. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake:

"But he that endureth to the end shall be saved"

-Matthew 10:22.

So. next time when you think your life sucks...
